Clinical Research

The clinical research conducted by the CCM ABCD aims to translate scientific findings into improved care for patients with cardiovascular diseases. To this end, the four university hospitals pool their clinical expertise and, through cross-site registries and databases, create a robust foundation for innovative research projects. Shared access to large, cross-site patient cohorts makes it possible to investigate clinical questions with high scientific significance. The systematic collection of high-quality clinical data helps to better understand disease progression, identify risk factors, and develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

A particular focus is on the development of investigator-initiated multicenter clinical trials in which new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are scientifically evaluated. This scope is complemented by participation in national and international clinical trials and registry studies. In this way, the CCM ABCD contributes to the continuous advancement of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and efficiently translates new findings into clinical practice.
